The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, said on Friday that Serbia and Russia will jointly determine how Serbian-made ammunition reaches Ukraine, following Moscow's accusation of Belgrade exporting weapons to the Ukrainian government. The Russian foreign intelligence agency accused Serbia of "stabbing in the back," stating that Serbian defense industry companies are selling ammunition and weapons to Ukraine. The agency's statement published on its website on Thursday indicated that these weapon sales have a clear purpose: killing and maiming Russian military personnel and civilians. Serbia is maintaining a balance between its historical relations with Russia and the European Union. It has condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine but has so far refused to join Western sanctions against Moscow. Vucic told the state television RTS that he discussed Serbian arms exports to Ukraine with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during his visit to Moscow on May 9, denying some of the Russian foreign intelligence agency's accusations.
