Al-Shaybani, Abu Qasra, and Salama Meet Turkish Officials to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Border Security

A high-level Syrian delegation arrived today in the Turkish capital, Ankara, including Foreign Minister and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shaybani, Defense Minister Major General Engineer Marhaf Abu Qasra, and Head of Intelligence Hussein Salama, to conduct a series of discussions with Turkish officials.
During the visit, a meeting took place between the Syrian delegation and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, where both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in political, security, and economic fields, in addition to addressing common threats and border security, and following up on the implementation of existing agreements between the two countries.
The discussions focused on developing economic relations and increasing the volume of joint investments, as part of efforts to enhance strategic cooperation between Damascus and Ankara.
This visit comes a week after Fidan's visit to Damascus, where he met with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara and the Foreign Minister, during which he affirmed his country's support for Syria and called on the international community to "shoulder its responsibilities in curbing the aggressive policies of Israeli occupation and stopping its attacks on Syrian territory."
