Dbeiba holds high-level international security meeting in Tripoli

The international security meeting to discuss the issue of irregular migration was launched today in Tripoli, chaired by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeiba.
The meeting is attended by the Ministers of Interior of Italy, Greece, and Malta, in addition to the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration.
The meeting comes within the framework of coordinating regional and international efforts to enhance border security and combat human trafficking networks across the Mediterranean, amid the escalating challenges faced by transit and destination countries.
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeiba, announced the preparation of a comprehensive national plan by the Ministry of Interior to deal with the issue of irregular migration, indicating that it reflects a "clear political will to build sustainable solutions".
Dbeiba revealed the imminent launch of a major national campaign to combat human trafficking and control borders with the participation of several "friendly countries", affirming that his government will present a comprehensive vision to address the issue from its humanitarian, security, and administrative aspects.
He also called for "building a new approach with regional and international partners that goes beyond temporary solutions and relies on partnership and shared responsibility", noting the launch of an organized security campaign in Tripoli and the western region targeting smuggling gangs, once again requesting greater political support from partner countries.
