After the failure of previous measures .. Britain tightens border control and combats smuggling

It seems that the previous British measures to control the borders and prevent the flow of illegal immigrants have not been effective, and it is expected that the number of crossings will exceed 60,000 migrants if the situation continues as it is.
In this regard, the British newspaper "Telegraph" reported that the British government, led by Keir Starmer, will enhance efforts to combat smuggling gangs as the number of crossings exceeds 25,000.
According to the newspaper, the Border Security Command announced that new funding will bolster the UK's efforts to combat smuggling gangs, and 300 additional officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) will be deployed to target human traffickers across the channel, in a new attempt to prevent the number of migrants from reaching a record level this year.
In a related context, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced an investment of £100 million in border security, which will enable the National Crime Agency to hire 300 additional officers to combat organized immigration crimes.
This investment represents three times the increase in the number of officers in the National Crime Agency, which was 100 officers when the government established the Border Security Command under former Chief Constable Martin Hewitt.
