The "Wall Street Journal" reported today, Wednesday, that a senior official in the White House and an informed source said that President Trump informed his aides that he is considering dismissing Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook.
This comes after Trump-appointed Housing Finance Agency head Bill Bolte accused her of "forging banking documents and ownership records to obtain favorable loan terms" in two cases related to mortgage loans, according to "Bloomberg News".
Bolte requested the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into the matter, considering that "mortgage loan fraud is a crime punishable by law".
