Abdul Salam Haykal has taken on the important task today of receiving the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the new Syrian transitional government. He is a leading Syrian businessman in the fields of technology and media, with extensive experience in founding successful companies such as "TransTech for Information Systems" and "Haykal Media," in addition to "Lableb Labs," which owns the famous Arabic search engine Lableb.com. In his speech, Abdul Salam Haykal emphasized that his ministry will work on developing the communications and technology sector in Syria, focusing on improving service quality, providing sustainable solutions, and enhancing Syria's openness to the world. He also highlighted the importance of improving digital infrastructure, supporting digital transformation, and digital identity in the country. Born in Damascus in 1978, Abdul Salam Haykal is one of the prominent businessmen in the media and technology field in the region. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the American University in Beirut, and a master's degree in International Relations from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. His academic background has enabled him to build a strong career in governance and international economic relations. Abdul Salam Haykal has founded several leading companies, including "Majarra," which has become one of the most important platforms for digital Arabic content publishing. He also established "Lableb Labs," specializing in developing Arabic language search engines using artificial intelligence techniques, as well as "TransTech Systems," which provides software solutions for projects. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the American University in Beirut and the Advisory Council for the Arabic Language in the UAE. He has received prestigious awards such as the "Young Global Leader" from the World Economic Forum and the "Media Innovation Award" from the Arab Thought Foundation. He has been a prominent supporter of entrepreneurship in the Arab world, having served as the Chairman of the Board of the Syrian Association for Young Entrepreneurs until 2011. With his creativity and futuristic vision, Abdul Salam Haykal aims to lead Syria towards a digital transformation that contributes to improving the lives of citizens and enhancing the country's position in the field of technology.
