The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, emphasized today, Tuesday, the necessity of addressing urgent security and military issues, while including Kurdish rights in the constitutional political solution.

In statements to the "Yeni Yaşam" newspaper, Abdi added: "The Kurdish unity conference is historic, bringing together all Kurdish parties on a unified vision and political program."

Abdi confirmed that the Paris meetings represent a greater opportunity for success compared to Astana due to the participation of key forces on the ground and increasing international support.

He pointed out that "the previous central system is not returnable, and a decentralized system must be adopted to ensure self-governance for the components and to remove the term 'Arab' from the name of the republic to reflect diversity."

Abdi stated that "the formation of a special Kurdish delegation for dialogue with Damascus will focus on the constitutional rights stipulated in the March 10 agreement, emphasizing the importance of Kurdish unity and enhancing dialogue with all Syrian components."

He added: "The postponement of the Paris meeting was due to internal reasons within the Syrian government, but preparations are ongoing to reconvene it, with positive expectations for the success of the political process between the two parties."
