According to a recent report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the number of registered refugees and asylum seekers in Jordan has reached 615,715 people, with Syrians constituting 90.7%. The report further explains that Syrian refugees make up the majority at 90.7%, followed by Iraqi refugees at 6.6%, with the remaining percentage distributed among refugees from Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, and other nationalities. The report also states that 80.9% of refugees live in cities and villages, while 19.1% reside in camps, with notable camps being Zaatari camp hosting 70,292 refugees, and Azraq camp hosting 40,569 refugees. The age groups of refugees vary between children and the elderly, with children under 18 years old making up approximately 37.2% of the total refugees, while adults account for 57.7%, and the elderly for 5%.
