A security source in the internal security leadership of the Rural Damascus Governorate spoke today, Monday, about the circumstances of the circulated video in the Sayyida Zainab area.
In statements to the Syrian "News" channel, the source said that a report was received from the public properties committee about the existence of an operations headquarters belonging to the Lebanese "Hezbollah" and that they were facing difficulties in opening the house.
The source added that the public properties committee requested support from the criminal security branch in Sayyida Zainab to resolve the issue, but some civilians prevented the patrol from opening the house, which necessitated a request for support from the special tasks unit of the internal security administration.
He said: "While attempting to open the house, the internal security personnel were subjected to personal and sectarian insults from one of the civilians," and continued: "The situation escalated after one of the internal security personnel responded and pushed the person who insulted, which led to an attack on the internal security patrol."
He confirmed that after entering the house, 5.5 ammunition and offensive and defensive grenades were seized, and those involved in the attack on the public properties committee and internal security personnel were arrested.
He pointed out that the case was resolved by the criminal security official in Sayyida Zainab, and the person named Muhammad Al-Sharad pledged not to publish the video clip on social media and apologized to the public properties committee and the internal security administration.
