A Syrian government delegation discussed with its Saudi counterpart, during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Syrian Investment Authority building, ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, focusing on the sectors of education, communications, and trade.
The Syrian side in the meeting was chaired by the Ministers of Finance, Economy, Industry, Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the Director General of the Syrian Investment Authority. The Saudi side was represented by the Assistant Minister of Saudi Investment Abdullah Al-Dubaihi, and the Chairman of the Syrian-Saudi Business Council Mohammed Abu Nayan, along with a number of businessmen and investors.
The two sides discussed, according to a statement issued after the meeting, "prospects for improving and developing the delivery of educational services to students in primary, secondary, and university education, through electronic and professional educational platforms" proposed by the Saudi delegation.
The discussions also addressed "mechanisms for improving the technical and digital content provided to the Syrian student, which enables education for students who do not benefit from educational opportunities".
The agenda also included a detailed presentation on "the investment map in Syria, the main sectors for proposed investment projects, and the available investment opportunities".
This meeting comes after the arrival of the Saudi delegation, which includes a number of businessmen and investors, at Damascus International Airport, on a visit aimed at "discussing prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries".
