The Lebanese Ministry of Finance announced that "the Travelers and Duty-Free Department at the Customs Directorate at Beirut International Airport seized a sum of money in US currency amounting to two and a half million dollars."
According to Reuters, "the amount was found with a traveler arriving from Turkey."
It added that "upon the signal of the public prosecutor, the detainee and the seized items will be handed over to the investigation department at the General Directorate of General Security."
Three sources said it is the first time money has been seized.
It is worth mentioning that "Hezbollah" has not yet commented on the incident.
