The German authorities announced yesterday, Friday, May 23, 2025, that a knife attack occurred inside the main train station in the city of Hamburg, northern Germany, resulting in 12 injuries.
The Hamburg police confirmed in an official post on the "X" website that an unidentified person attacked several individuals with a knife inside the station, causing varying injuries among the wounded.

According to the Hamburg Fire Department, 3 of the injured sustained life-threatening injuries, while 3 others were moderately injured, and 6 minor injuries were recorded.
Some of the injured were transported for treatment inside the trains, which temporarily stopped operating, while train services around the station were suspended until security investigations and necessary measures to ensure passenger safety are completed.

In a rapid field development, the police managed to arrest a woman suspected of involvement in the incident, as part of a wide-ranging security operation that is still ongoing. The Hamburg police stated that they are investigating the motives and backgrounds of the incident, noting that the investigations are ongoing and further details will be announced as they become available.

This incident comes amid a state of security tension in the region, prompting authorities to enhance security measures inside the station and in surrounding areas to prevent the recurrence of such events and protect the safety of citizens.
