In a shocking incident that shook the state of Michigan, 11 people were stabbed inside a Walmart store in the famous city of Traverse City, in what police described as a random attack, resulting in injuries ranging from critical to serious.
The Grand Traverse County Police, led by Michael Shea, announced the arrest of a 42-year-old suspect from Michigan during a press conference this Sunday morning, confirming that investigations indicate the attack was aimless and carried out with a folding knife.
The police chief explained that the victims, whose identities have not been determined yet, include six men and five women, three of whom are currently undergoing surgeries, while six are in critical condition and five are in serious condition.
Tiffany DeVille, a witness from nearby Honor, expressed extreme horror during the incident, likening the scene to a horror movie, and never expecting to witness such chaos in her peaceful area.
On the other hand, Walmart expressed solidarity with the injured and pledged full cooperation with the security authorities to complete the investigation, emphasizing that violence in this manner is completely unacceptable.
Traverse City, located on the coast of Lake Michigan, is a prominent tourist destination known for its annual Cherry Festival, wineries, picturesque lighthouses, and its proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park.
