Real Madrid, under coach Carlo Ancelotti and midfielder Luka Modric, gifted a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad in their last match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, concluding the Spanish La Liga football season on Saturday.
Ancelotti will take over coaching Brazil after leaving Real, while Modric is set to leave the club after the Club World Cup next month, which will be held in the United States.
In an exciting first half, Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in the 38th minute, taking advantage of a rebound from Sociedad goalkeeper Unai Marrero, who easily saved a penalty kick taken by the Frenchman.
Ancelotti introduced Brazilian Vinicius Junior in the second half, who combined wonderfully with Mbappe, scoring the second goal.
Real Madrid finished the season in second place with 84 points, just one point behind champions Barcelona, who will play on Sunday. Sociedad occupies 11th place with 46 points.
