On Thursday, sources from the Dignity Men Movement reported that the leader of the movement, Laith Al-Balous, survived an assassination attempt in Shahba, rural Sweida.
Laith is the only son of Al-Balous, one of the most prominent Druze sheikhs in Syria, who has been opposing the Bashar Al-Assad regime since the beginning of the revolution in March 2011.
Al-Balous, the leader of the "Dignity Men Movement," was the target of an assassination attempt described as "political" in September 2015, following a car bomb explosion in the city of Sweida, followed by another targeting at the hospital he was transferred to.
It is worth mentioning that Laith Al-Balous stands with the new Syrian government and is against separatist movements within Syrian territory.
