Real Madrid officials have informed their Austrian defender David Alaba that he is not in the plans of the new coaching staff led by Xabi Alonso for the upcoming season. The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that Real Madrid's message to Alaba was clear, granting him the freedom to consider offers presented to him during the current summer transfer window. In his first reaction, Alaba insisted on staying with Real Madrid even if it means playing a secondary role without regular participation in the upcoming season. Real Madrid has signed the Spanish international defender, Dani Ceballos, from English club Bournemouth, which hastened Alaba's departure this season. Alaba's contract with Real Madrid continues until the end of the next season in the summer of 2026, and he has suffered from an injury that kept him away from the field for over a year. Alaba joined Real Madrid in the 2021/22 season and has been part of the team's victories in the UEFA Champions League twice, the UEFA Super Cup twice, the FIFA Club World Cup once, as well as the Intercontinental Cup, the Spanish League twice, the Spanish Super Cup twice, and the Copa del Rey once.
