The Director of Internal Security in Aleppo, Major Mohammed Abdul Ghani, announced the release of over 200 detainees in the first phase of the agreement between the Syrian presidency and the Syrian Democratic Forces on 10/3/2025. This agreement involved the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the institutions of the Syrian Arab Republic, emphasizing the unity of Syrian territories and rejecting division. Abdul Ghani stated in a press conference in Aleppo today: "While we congratulate the released detainees, we emphasize that this is only the first phase. There are other stages planned to completely clear the prisons and significant efforts are being made to free all Syrian detainees held by various parties, allowing them to return to their homes and families, aiming to restore civil peace and normal life, as well as the entry of Syrian state institutions into all areas across Syrian territory." Abdul Ghani continued: "We are committed to implementing all aspects of the agreement to achieve the unity of Syrian territories, security, stability, and prosperity for our Syrian people in all their components and spectra." He also praised the warm welcome of the residents in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya for the security forces with chants of "One Syrian people," highlighting that today's events strengthen confidence in building unified institutions for Syria. Abdul Ghani clarified that all parties are working towards implementing the agreement, with parallel arrangements and steps to evacuate the area of military personnel and remove barriers in the near future, emphasizing that this agreement was achieved through Syrian-Syrian efforts without any external interference.
