La Liga appeals the decision to register "Oulmo" and "Pau Victor" with Barcelona.

The Spanish League "La Liga" has filed an administrative appeal today, Monday, requesting precautionary measures against the decision of the Higher Sports Council to approve the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in Barcelona's team roster. In a statement on its website, La Liga stated: "The Spanish Football League has filed an administrative appeal and requested precautionary measures against the decision of the Higher Sports Council on April 3, 2025, which upheld Barcelona's appeal to continue registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in the team's roster." La Liga emphasized that this decision violates the regulatory framework related to financial fair play and sports licensing, undermining the competition's integrity and equality among clubs. The crisis arose when the league granted temporary licenses to Olmo and Victor at the beginning of the season, which automatically expired on December 31, 2024, while Barcelona sought new income sources to comply with financial fair play rules. The club believed it achieved this goal by officially announcing the sale of VIP seats at Camp Nou for around 100 million euros over 20 years in January. The Higher Sports Council temporarily allowed Olmo and Victor to play for Barcelona until a final decision is made. However, La Liga stated that no amount from the VIP seats sale agreement was recorded in the profit and loss accounts, making the players' registration illegal. The Higher Sports Council recently confirmed the continued registration of Olmo and Victor with Barcelona until the end of the season.
