The Syrian Arab News Agency announced the start of a prisoner exchange operation between the Internal Security Directorate and the Syrian Democratic Forces in Aleppo. The number of prisoners, according to "SANA," is approximately 250 people. A committee from the Syrian Arab Republic Presidency and the Civil Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods reached an agreement on Tuesday, April 1, to settle the situation in the two neighborhoods in Aleppo. The agreement includes the withdrawal of military forces from the neighborhoods to northeastern Syria, a ban on armed manifestations in the neighborhoods, and the exclusive control of weapons by the Internal Security Forces under the Syrian Ministry of Interior. The latter is responsible for protecting the residents of the neighborhoods and preventing any attacks or violations against them. The agreement also states that Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods, with a Kurdish majority, are considered part of Aleppo administratively, and protecting and respecting the social and cultural privacy of the residents of these neighborhoods is essential to enhance peaceful coexistence. The agreement also includes "whitening the prisons by both parties in Aleppo Governorate and exchanging all prisoners captured after liberation."
