The FAO report indicates a worsening food security crisis in Syria.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has issued a recent report warning of the worsening food security crisis in Syria. Grain production is expected to decrease by approximately 13% in the current year 2025 compared to the previous year.
The report explained that the continuous deterioration of economic conditions, along with ongoing conflict and the impacts of climate change, will intensify the food challenges in the country, despite a slight decline in food prices.
The report called for urgent action by humanitarian organizations and international actors to address this escalating crisis and provide necessary support to prevent further deterioration in the food situation for the population.
