The spokesperson for the Fact-Finding Committee on the events of the Syrian coast, Yasser Al-Farhan, clarified that the committee will visit the detention centers of those involved or suspected of involvement in the recent events, whether affiliated with the former regime or other groups, to listen to them and document their testimonies. During an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, Al-Farhan stated that "the committee has requested the Syrian government to allow visits to detention centers of those suspected of involvement, whether affiliated with the Assad regime or unaffiliated groups from the region." Al-Farhan indicated that "the hearing sessions are scheduled for next Friday and Saturday," emphasizing that the purpose of the visit is "to investigate the government's measures in holding the perpetrators accountable, securing those areas to prevent new violations, and about the conditions of the Syrian state during the violations, and its control over the groups or individuals involved." Al-Farhan reported that "the committee has been active in all areas where violations occurred, listened to witnesses, and documented about 100 testimonies," confirming that "witnesses spoke freely without any hindrance or intervention from authorities, and measures were taken to ensure their protection by listening to them in an isolated place and preserving their identity." Al-Farhan explained that "the committee is independent, and its members are not government employees, some of them residing abroad, and any criticism of the committee is not valid." He also pointed out that "the committee, with all its members, values the right to freedom of expression and the importance of independent media access to all areas, which is under consideration and support by the committee to make a recommendation to the Syrian government in this regard," confirming that "the committee relies on many media reports as a thread during its work."
