UN Commissioner Calls for Accountability for Perpetrators of Killings in Sweida

UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, urged the Syrian authorities today to ensure accountability and justice regarding the killings and violations in the city of Sweida in the south of the country.


Volker Turk said in a statement, "The bloodshed and violence must stop, and the utmost priority should be to protect all people in line with international human rights law."

The UN Commissioner for Human Rights emphasized the need for "independent, prompt, and transparent investigations into all acts of violence, and for holding those responsible" for these violations accountable.
