Strong Earthquakes Hit off the Coast of Russia, with Warnings of Tsunami Waves

Two strong earthquakes, measuring 6.7 and 7.4 on the Richter scale, struck an area near the coasts of Kamchatka in the far east of Russia on Sunday, July 20, prompting authorities to issue a warning of a potential tsunami.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquakes was in the Pacific Ocean, 130 kilometers and 155 kilometers from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of the Kamchatka region.
The consecutive tremors raised concerns about possible repercussions, especially with the issuance of a tsunami warning as a precautionary measure for residents of coastal areas.
