Trump Threatens to Impose Tariffs on BRICS Countries and Describes Them as a "Fading Group"

In new statements, US President Donald Trump threatened to impose additional tariffs on the countries that are members of the BRICS group, considering this group "will quickly collapse" if it tries to form an influential entity on the global stage.
Trump said on Friday, July 18: "When I heard about this group.. BRICS, six countries basically, I targeted them very strongly. If they ever truly form any influential entity, the group will collapse quickly," without naming any specific country.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the dominance of the dollar as a global reserve currency, pledging not to allow the establishment of central banks for digital currencies in the United States, saying: "We cannot let anyone manipulate us ever".
This comes after Trump earlier announced his intention to impose a 10% tariff on countries adopting what he described as "anti-US policies" issued by BRICS, in a new escalation of trade tensions between Washington and its adversaries.
He wrote on the "Truth Social" platform: "Any country that aligns with anti-US policies for the BRICS group will face an additional 10% tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you for your interest in this matter!".
