The European Union has approved a new package of sanctions targeting Russia, as part of measures aimed at increasing economic pressure in light of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The package includes setting a cap on the price of Russian oil exports, according to diplomatic sources.
A diplomat in Brussels stated after a meeting of EU ambassadors on Friday, July 18: "We have reached an agreement on the eighteenth strong and effective sanctions package against Russia," as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
