Felix Baumgartner, Owner of Legendary Jump, Dies in Paragliding Accident
In a tragic incident, Austrian adventurer Felix Baumgartner, aged 56, known for his legendary jump from the stratosphere in 2012, died while piloting a motorized paraglider (Paragleiter) in the Porto Sant'Elpidio area on the Adriatic coast of Italy during his summer vacation.

The city's mayor, Massimiliano Cherubini, confirmed that Baumgartner experienced a health issue during his flight, believed to have lost consciousness, leading to his paraglider crashing into a hotel pool, resulting in his immediate death, while a hotel employee sustained minor injuries.
The city awaits the official autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

Just hours before the accident, Baumgartner posted a picture on his Instagram account showing a sky filled with clouds and strong winds, with the caption: "Winds are very strong".
He also shared a video of himself adjusting the engine of his paraglider, commenting: "Man at work".

Red Bull, the company, mourned him saying: "Felix was born to fly, he was intelligent, professional, precise, and systematic, leaving nothing to chance".

Baumgartner's jump on October 14, 2012, from an altitude of 39 kilometers above the New Mexico desert, was the world's first jump from the stratosphere, breaking the sound barrier with his body during freefall, reaching a speed of 1,342 kilometers per hour before opening his parachute, with the journey to the ground lasting 4 minutes and 20 seconds.

Baumgartner began skydiving at the age of 16, joining the Austrian Army's skydiving team, becoming one of the world's top skydiving professionals, performing aerial stunts for Red Bull since 1988, before making history with his legendary jump.

Felix passed away after a life full of challenges and excitement, leaving behind a legacy of courage and determination in the world of aerial adventures.
