The Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, said today, Saturday, that what the heroes of the Civil Defense teams and firefighting squads are doing in facing the flames during their response to forest fires in Latakia province is a real miracle.
In a tweet on "X", al-Saleh added: "I am completely unable to thank them because what they are doing surpasses human capability. An ordinary person cannot face high temperatures, thick smoke, and the risks of war remnants unless they believe that every tree is a soul that must be protected and a heritage for all Syrians that must be preserved".
He continued: "I wish a speedy recovery to the firefighters who have been injured and burned, and safety to all teams. I assure Syrians that we will spare no effort to extinguish these fires".
