"QSD" announces the arrest of a "spy" for the former Syrian regime.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced today, Monday, March 3, the arrest of a "spy" working for the former Syrian regime in Al-Hasakah province in northeastern Syria.
The SDF stated in a press release that the security operation, described as "precise and meticulous," took place in the city of Al-Hasakah, resulting in the arrest of Islam Ma'rouf, known as "Islam Khafaji," described as a "dangerous spy."
The statement indicated that the detainee is considered one of the most dangerous elements involved in carrying out "terrorist operations" against the SDF and the international coalition forces in the cities of Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor.
This arrest comes within the successive security campaigns witnessed in the provinces of Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor since the fall of the Syrian regime on December 8, 2024.
The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) affiliated with the self-administration had announced on February 4 the arrest of 79 individuals during a joint security campaign with the SDF and the international coalition forces in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which lasted for 15 days.
Asayish mentioned that the campaign targeted "remnants of the former Syrian regime" and its affiliates, in addition to cells of the "Islamic State" organization trying to "incite chaos, sedition, and kill innocent people."
The security campaigns also extended to Al-Hasakah province, where the SDF raided several villages and towns, arresting individuals accused of working for the former regime.
The SDF continues to carry out periodic security operations to pursue cells of the "Islamic State" organization and "remnants of the former Syrian regime," having announced at the end of January the dismantling of a cell affiliated with the former regime in Deir ez-Zor, which was working on "spreading chaos" and attacking its forces in the region.
It is worth noting that the SDF conducts security campaigns from time to time, during which civilians are arrested on charges of belonging to the "Islamic State" organization, before some of them are later released through tribal mediators.
