Putin condoles Iraq over Kut fire victims

The Russian Embassy in Baghdad announced that President Vladimir Putin sent a condolence telegram to the Iraqi leadership over the victims of the recent fire at the commercial center in the city of Kut in eastern Iraq.
The embassy stated on Telegram: "Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a condolence telegram to his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani over the Kut fire victims".
The fire broke out at the commercial center in the city of Kut, located in the Iraqi province of Wasit, on Wednesday evening. According to a source at the Iraqi Ministry of Health's INA agency, the number of casualties in the incident reached 63 people, while 40 others were injured. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani declared a national mourning for 3 days for the fire victims on Thursday and personally visited the site of the tragedy.
