The Syrian Arab Republic Presidency announced today, Sunday, a decision to form a high committee to preserve civil peace in Syria.

The announcement stated: "Based on the supreme national interest and commitment to achieving civil peace among the components of the Syrian people, we at the Syrian Arab Republic Presidency decide the following:"
- Formation of a high committee to preserve civil peace.
_The following gentlemen are assigned as members of this committee:
- Hassan Soufan.
- Dr. Anas Ayrout.
- Dr. Khaled Al-Ahmad.
_The committee is entrusted with the following tasks:
- Direct communication with the residents in the Syrian coast to listen to them.
- Providing full support to the residents in the Syrian coast to ensure their security and stability.
- Working on enhancing national unity in this critical phase.

This decision comes after tensions in the Syrian coast region due to sabotage attacks carried out by elements affiliated with remnants of the defunct regime, resulting in the killing of many civilians and public security personnel, before the Syrian government imposed control over the area with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense and securing the region.
