Netanyahu: We Reached a Ceasefire in Syria by Force, Not by Requests

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today, Thursday, that his government has set a clear policy to disarm from southern Damascus and the Golan Heights to the Druze Mountain area, indicating that reaching a ceasefire in Syria was "by force, not by requests".
He also said in statements to journalists, "Due to our intensive activity, Syrian forces withdrew to Damascus, and this is important".
He also said, "We achieve peace through force on 7 fronts", pointing out that "the spiritual leader of the Druze sect in Israel, Mufak Tarif, asked us to help the Druze in Syria".
Syrian authorities withdrew their forces from the province of Suwayda coinciding with President Ahmad al-Shara's announcement that he wants to avoid a "widespread war" with Israel, which threatened to escalate its raids.
Yesterday, Israel launched strong airstrikes on Damascus, targeting the Ministry of Defense headquarters and areas near the presidential palace in the Syrian capital following an escalation of violence in the southern Suwayda province.
