Billionaire Elon Musk stated that he is likely to pay over $500 billion in taxes over his lifetime, in a tweet he posted on the platform X.

Musk's comment came in response to his earlier statements where he confirmed that he is the "largest individual taxpayer in history," noting that he has paid over $10 billion in taxes.

The net worth of the world's richest man is currently estimated at around $672 billion, having increased by about $53 billion since the beginning of 2026, according to circulating estimates.

Musk previously stated that less than 0.1% of his wealth is in cash, while more than 99.9% of it comes from owning shares in his companies, primarily Tesla and SpaceX.
