In a significant development regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized the necessity of recognizing the "current territorial reality" as a fundamental condition for achieving peace, calling for international support for direct dialogue between Moscow and Washington.
In an article published by the Indonesian newspaper "Kompas", Lavrov noted that communications between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump are of a substantive nature, at a time when the United States is making "active diplomatic efforts" to stop the war, according to him.
He added that all international partners should support the dialogue process and work towards building a new security guarantees system that ensures long-term stability in the region.
* Trump: I Will Do Something to Save People!
For his part, American President Donald Trump expressed his deep dissatisfaction with Putin due to the continuation of the war, affirming his intention to take action to save civilians in what he described as a "meaningless war".
Trump stated during a radio interview with the "Scott Jennings" program that his previous relationship with Putin was "great", but he now sees the necessity to act, adding:
"Thousands of people are dying... I will do something to help people live".
This verbal escalation came after the recent meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska last month failed to achieve any tangible progress towards ending the conflict.
* Zelensky: Russia is Once Again Mobilizing at the Front
In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia has begun implementing new military reinforcements at the combat fronts, confirming the continuation of Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets.
Zelensky stated in a video address last night:
"We are currently witnessing a new mobilization of Russian forces in specific sectors of the front... Putin refuses to be forced into peace".
* Possible Meeting Between Putin and Zelensky
In another development, Trump revealed that he had discussions with Putin during a summit held at the White House that included Zelensky and European leaders, where they agreed to start arranging a direct meeting between Putin and Zelensky in a new attempt to end the years-long war.
