Former Russian President Expects Moscow to Withstand New European Sanctions Package

Medvedev, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, made his comments after the European Union approved the eighteenth package of sanctions against Russia due to its war in Ukraine, including measures aimed at targeting more strikes on the Russian oil and energy industry.
In a post on the Telegram app, Medvedev said that the new sanctions will not do much to change Russia's position in the conflict, just as previous rounds of sanctions failed to have any impact.
Medvedev said: Russia plans to intensify its strikes on Ukraine.
He explained: "The strikes will be directed against targets in the so-called Ukraine, including Kyiv, with greater force".
Last Monday, US President Donald Trump announced a tough stance against Russia, promising a new package including missiles and other weapons, including Patriot missile defense systems capable of destroying Russian ballistic missiles.
Trump gave Russia a 50-day deadline to agree to a ceasefire, otherwise it will face new sanctions.
