Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, Asaad al-Shaaban, expressed his gratitude today, Thursday, via the "X" platform, saying, "Many thanks to my brother, His Excellency the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and to Mr. Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, for the fruitful and constructive meeting we held today." Al-Shaaban added, "Today we laid an important foundation for building advanced strategic relations with the United States that serve our people's interests and enhance our regional and international presence." He concluded, "The Syrians look forward to a bright future, and we are working with all our efforts to open new horizons that ensure security, stability, and prosperity." This came after al-Shaaban's meeting with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio, today in Antalya, to discuss the details of President Donald Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria and enhance relations between Damascus and Washington.
